“The Howe Sound Women’s Centre was a beacon of light on a very dark and arduous path.”

From its grassroots start in 1981, PearlSpace (formerly Howe Sound Women’s Centre Society) has been dedicated to the prevention of gender-based violence and inclusive support for women, children and youth impacted by violence or abuse. Services include a transition house and safe home for survivors of intimate partner violence and children at risk of violence, as well as drop-in centres in Squamish and Whistler providing support, resources, referrals and advocacy.

PearlSpace’s experienced, passionate employees and dedicated volunteer base serves the needs of women, trans, non-binary, Two-Spirit and other gender diverse individuals, youth and children in the Sea to Sky Corridor including Pemberton, Whistler, Squamish and the Nations of N’Quatqua, Samahquam, Lil’wat, Skatin, Xa’xtsa, and Squamish.
